Mr Richardson was the Headmaster on the left, the other teacher was Mr L Dowling, the team coach, he later became the mayor of Wigan.Most of the lads were in my Class and I will try to name them;back,left to right,?,Joe Rimmer,Ronnie Lees,Fred Ashton,Howson, Roy Ashton. middle,Wyke, Wogan, Hepworth.

I should have given credit to Mr J Rimmer for sending me this photo', it has also been in Past Forward magazine.
I think this is my Grandad Harry Howson he still lives in Hindley and just turned 83
The Assistant Master (team Coach) was Harold Dowling who was also an Alderman of Wigan. Both teachers were Justices of the Peace (J P)

Ialso have a pint with Ken Carter 85 and still as bright as a button but we can't back a winner in a fit .Top man
What a surprise! I never expected to see Mr Richardson and Mr Dowling again. They were both there when I attended All Saints between 1949 and 1955. Mr Dowling had the nickname "Owd Ben" he used to take snuff out of a tin during lessons. In his cupboard were two canes which he christened "Attilla" and "Alleric" you got extra stokes if you brought the wrong one! Of course to us they both looked the same !
