St Andrews ,on Gidlow Lane

This one is taken on Gidlow Lane near the junction with Beech Hall Street. The two ladies appear in a number of these slides.
It is also amazing how far the walks went in those days. The photos show them walking towards Springfield from the Martland Mill direction and they are shown walking down Gidlow Lane from Beech Hill back towards Springfield. This would suggest a two or three mile walk.

the most obvious route would be down woodhouse lane turn right at farmfoods up beech hill lane turn right at white farm (belshaws)up to gidlow lane turn right down gidlow lane past this picture location down to park road and right back up to springfield

This would be St Annes, Beech Hill.

This is St Andrew's Church Walking Day in June. I recognise Mrs Passant in Pink who was a regular church goer. Photo taken top of Gidlow Lane near Beech Hall St where the old NHS Clinic used to be. The church behind is now a house.
